  11. How can I get wholesale pricing for my business?
  1. Are there other sizes available that aren't listed here?
Yes. We can make just about any size. Use our custom tarp builder page to make any size you need, or call customer service at 1-573-619-1520.
  2. What is the difference between cut size and finish size?
The cut size of a tarp is the measurement of the fabric before hems and seams are sewn. The finish size is the result after hems and seams have been sewn. For example, a tarp with a cut-size of 8’ x 10’ will have a finish size of approximately 7’5” x 9’6”. The standard sizes sold here are cut size.
  3. Will the treatment on a canvas tarp rub off or bleed?
Some color bleeding and/or rub off can happen with treated canvas products. After exposure to the elements, the possibility will become increasingly minimal. If you experience rub off from a canvas product onto clothing, it should wash out with normal detergent.
  4. Why does my canvas tarp have a strong odor?
The treatment on the canvas that makes it resistant to water, mildew, and rot can have a strong smell. It will be strongest when the tarp is originally removed from its packaging. The smell should dissipate over time.
  5. Is my canvas tarp appropriate to use as a drop cloth to cover carpeting indoors?
No. A treated canvas tarp is not the correct product for use indoors because of the possibility of treatment rub off. A better choice would be a reusable canvas dropcloth or a lightweight blue poly tarp.
  6. Can I return a custom built tarp?
No. We cannot accept returns on any items we have custom made to your specifications unless the materials or workmanship are inspected and found to be defective. Please refer to our return policy.
  7. Is there a guarantee on how long my tarp will last?
No. Weather and use conditions, as well as installation, affect the life of fabrics and vary from customer to customer.
  8. Can Hawthorn build a tarp to my specifications from a drawing I provide?
Most Likely. We often receive drawings or specifications and are able to produce custom built covers. Call 573-619-1520, Fax to 573-486-2415, or email your request to info@hawthorntarps.com , and our customer service team will be happy to quote you.
  9. What specifications do fire retardant tarps meet?
It depends upon the fabric. Please call customer service to get specific information on fire retardant specifications.
  10. Is there a minimum that must be met to order?
No. We have no minimum order.
